Today’s topic is resilience! Joining Justin today is co-host Whitney Craig, RIMS Director of Government Relations. Resilience is a key topic at the upcoming RIMS Legislative Summit, which Whitney organizes and hosts every year on Capitol Hill.
In this episode, Justin and Whitney will be speaking with special guest, Dr. Daniel Kaniewski, the Deputy Administrator for the newly-organized FEMA Resilience. Prior to his role with FEMA, Dr. Kaniewski was the Vice President for Global Resilience at AIR Worldwide, a catastrophe risk modeling and consulting services firm. He was also a Senior Fellow at the Center for Cyber & Homeland Security and served as Mission Area Director for Resilience and Emergency Preparedness/Response at a research center supporting the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He also served as Special Assistant to the President for Homeland Security during the George W. Bush Administration. You can also look forward to hearing more from Dr. Kaniewski at the RIMS Legislative Summit where he will be speaking at to discuss FEMA’s current programs and what they’re working on!
